How do you make sushi?

Hi everyone, I’m back again with a quick example of how it is easy to make good sushi. So below I’ve included a recipe for sushi you can try yourself.

I don’t want to go into much detail because that will only serve to confuse something that is actually quite simple. The recipe is for Unagi (eel) roll, which is a very popular kind of sushi made with sheets made out of roasted seaweed called Nori Sheets, eel, rice and cucumber. Here is what you need to make a good amount:

  1. A few nori sheets
  2. 3 cups of sushi rice
  3. some cucumber, cut into slices
  4. 1-2 cups unagi (eel), sliced
  5. (Optional) sesame seeds, avocado)

For the unagi sauce:

  1. 1/2 cup mirin (sweet rice wine)
  2. 1/2 cup soy sauce
  3. 1/4 cup sugar

Most of what you need can be found in most good oriental supermarkets. This is a popular recipe so the ingredients aren’t hard to find.

Very simple. First, the sauce:simmer the sauce ingredients in a pan until the sugar has dissolved. Allow to cool so you can work with it.

Take the eel and cut into small slices if you haven’t done so already. Glaze the unagi with the sauce you just made and grill at a medium head for a few minutes – it doesn’t need too long.

First spread out the nori sheets, then cover with an even coating of the cooked rice. Don’t make it too thick as you’ll have to roll it all up later. put in your cucumber slices, cooked unagi and sesame seeds & avocado if you decided to include them. Roll it up, cut into pieces and you’re done!

It really doesn’t take very long at all and is one of the easiest recipes I know. Give it a whirl, before you know it you’ll be opening your very own all you can eat sushi bar :)
